Essential Oils, Recipes

Betcha didn’t know that the right essential oils, namely doTERRA essential oils, are great for spicing things up in the kitchen.   Oh yeah, these powerful healers can flavor a number of dishes while doing their work on your mind and body to promote great health.   When it comes to flavorings, its important to be cautious and smart about how you choose to rev up a dish.   Most (if not all) extracts and flavorings on the market have been extremely modified and made to satisfy consumers tastes buds in a cheap way without really satisfying them in a pure and tasteful way.  What I mean is if you were to replace Wild Orange essential oil with your old orange extract you would find a much more flavorful taste and it would serve you therapeutically to oxygenate the cells and give nutritional support to your system.  Ha!! Top that extract! No matter how natural they claim it to be the FDA standards of safety and purity are VERY lenient.

The official FDA definition of “natural” flavoring is published in the Code of Federal Regulations (21CFR101.22) in the form of more than 100 words that meticulously plug every conceivable loophole. -Washington post, may 2004

The U.S. FDA separates food flavorings into two categories: natural and artificial. To be natural, a flavoring must come from food. A food scientist can do virtually anything (including dissolving in acid, distilling, and breaking apart amino acids) to get to the end result. As long as it starts with food, it’s natural. So, “naturally-flavored” beef ravioli might actually be chicken. –  Jim Schreiber

That’s just gross and most of us don’t want to hear that the mint extract is just a bunch of chemically altered components that mess with our system.   So many say ignorance is bliss, but I say knowledge is power and with power comes an abundance of health, prosperity, and the best quality of life there is.  Have fun experimenting to cook with essential oils and remember that most on the market today are not safe to ingest.  DoTERRA essential oils are currently the only CPTGrade essential oil that will not even have a trace of contaminants.   So, most are  even recommended to ingest to provide healing for the body in incredible ways.

Consider these yummy essential oil recipes made with only the finest and most potent essential oils in their most pure, unadulterated state.  Enjoy!
